Welcome to the Online Research Methods comprehensive resource

The wiki about doing research online, through the Web, on the Web, in the Web, that anyone can edit

This wiki has been created and managed by Damien Lanfrey, PhD Student and visiting lecturer at City University of London, Sociology Department.

The aim is to collect, merge and organise the best academic and professional efforts worldwide in terms of online research methods, tools, data sources and finally projects and perspectives, in order to map the state of research in the field and thus envision and propose further directions.

This could help social scientists in understanding how the Web is not only providing the researcher with massive amount of data and increasing complexity, but rather, through its architecture and specificities, suggesting new forms of data, new way of gathering and perhpas new research approaches.
Additionally, developers and computer scientists would be encouraged to propose, confront and eventually mix their best experiences in building their tools, either in a team or individually.
